Freelance Sites: Connecting Skill With Opportunity

What is a Freelancer?

A freelancer is a self-employed person who works for a number of different companies, employers, or individuals. This person is usually hired by the job or project, for a limited period of time.

In your search for work you can do from home, you may want to consider the idea of freelancing and check out the freelance sites I've listed below, especially if you have

  1. a specific niche or specialized skill
  2. good people skills
  3. a healthy level of self confidence
  4. the ability to promote yourself in a professional manner.

Do keep in mind as you check out the freelance sites below that the income you earn from freelancing is linear and not residual (see my description). Of course, LINEAR income is great if you can get set up right away and you want to work so many hours a day for so much pay. But if you're like me and would rather be paid over and over again for work you do one time, then I suggest you consider starting a business instead.

I've listed some links to other freelance sites below. These are NOT affiliate links, which means I don't earn a referral fee for listing them here. Please don't consider this list to be my personal recommenda-tions, as I'm not a freelancer and have never registered for work with these sites. I only list them here to save you time and help with your research.

If you find freelance work through any of these sites, please let me know so I can share your results with other moms who read my updates. Also, if you know any other (non-affiliate) freelance sites that you'd like to see listed here, drop me a line and I'll check them out:

Freelance Switch and Freelance Sprout offer outstanding newsletters for freelancers. Even if you're not sure that freelancing is for you right now, I recommend you subscribe to thes (I do). They provide a wealth of information.

Check out the freelance sites listed above to learn more about this subject.

Freelance Writers

If you are a good writer and want to earn money writing articles about topics that interest you, I understand that Helium Marketplace pays between $16 and $200 per article written by internet marketers. This is NOT a personal recommendation, as I only know what I've read about them online. Check them out and feel free to write and let me know your experience!

I know some moms also earn income from submitting articles to eHow. I wouldn't rely on this to be a HUGE stream of income, but you might want to check it out if you enjoy writing articles.

I hope this information helps you!
